San Diego's Tropical Popsicle is dropping their first LP in March, hot on the heels of their two singles from 2012. Fans of the Woodsist/Captured Tracks catalog take note, there's a recognizable sound here with the dreamy waves of synths and shoegaze 2.0 guitars (or is it shoegaze 3.0 since labels like Clairecords and Burnt Hair kinda had the 2.0 going strong in the late 90's/early 00's? Ah fuck it, who cares). It's the choir-like vocal delivery and minimal drums & synth beats that really set them apart and give them a bit of an early 80's/OMD vibe. This stand-out track from their second 7 inch landed on the LP, if the rest of the LP is as good, it's going to be a winner.
