In June 2011, treasure hunter Peter Lindberg and his Ocean X team picked up something odd on their sonar. It was an object at the bottom of the Baltic Sea floor that was 200 ft in diameter and looked like the Millenium Falcon. They released the sonar image and immediately attracted media attention and controversy due to the size and perfect round shape of it.

After a year long wait, sunken UFO speculations, and internet freaks with their hopes up high, the team finally dove to the ocean floor in June of 2012. What they found was, for lack of better terms, weird as fuck.

“First they thought it was just stone or a rock cliff, but after further observations the object appeared more as a huge mushroom, rising 10-13 feet from the seabed, with rounded sides and rugged edges. The object had an egg shaped hole leading into it from the top, as an opening. On top of the object they also found strange stone circle formations, almost looking like small fireplaces. The stones were covered in something resembling soot.”

“During my 20-year diving career, including 6000 dives, I have never seen anything like this. Normally stones don’t burn. I can’t explain what we saw, and I went down there to answer questions, but I came up with even more questions.” says Stefan Hogeborn, one of the divers at Ocean X Team.

Soot

To paint a better picture, because these dudes could only get good enough pictures to keep us in suspense, imagine a mushroom with the stalk being natural ocean formation, and the cap of a mushroom is a “concrete-like” perfectly round dome structure. They also spotted a “meringue” formation sitting directly on top of it, 60 ft in diameter and rising 5 ft. The surface of the meringue seems to have construction lines and boxes drawn on it, and 90 degree angles rising a few feet from it. Lindberg also described something resembling a staircase with steps 1 meter apart for 8 steps.

UFO

90 fuckin’ degree angle

According to Ocean X’s facebook group, there is also a 3,800 ft trail leading to the USO that looks like a “runway or downhill path”. A few hundred feet away from the object there is another anomaly they haven’t explored much of yet, much Lindberg has said it might be more interesting than the first, with “gothic-like window shape forms”. Lying approx. 2 kilometers from circular object is a “Volcano-Like Mountain”. It is a 50 meter high mountain rising off the seabed in the form of a classic volcano. It has a “smoking” a cloud of undefinable material out of the top. Currently, there is no known volcanic activity in the Baltic region. Whaaaaaaat?

 Vaghauk’s impression of the anomaly

And then shit started getting real weird. Whenever the ship was directly above the anomaly, their cameras and satellite phones would stop working until they sailed away. The black hole they found the first time… wasn’t there when they went back the next couple of dives. They couldn’t find it again. Divers found a black tar-like substance which seemed to be “attracted” to their ROV camera (samples were taken and is in the process of tests). A strong radio signal of 40-50 megahertz was picked up when they were near the object. It was gradually colder at the anomaly, temperature reading -1°C instead of the usual 4°C. In a podcast, Lindberg also stated odd things started happening to him in his personal life at home, but he wouldn’t get into it. Damn son.

Skeptics said it could be just natural ocean shit, WWII anti-submarine outposts (underseaposts), or pillow basalts which is when lava flows into the ocean, but there are no volcanoes in the Baltic Sea. Lindberg, who dove down there, says the object looks “pre-Ice Age.” WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?

I like to think my bullshit detector is pretty good, and I know damn well people like to make shit up to try to make some money. Something about this though makes me think otherwise. The Ocean X Team seem genuinely interested in this and equally frustrated when they come back with no answers. Denis Asberg, another co-founder of Ocean Explorer, uploads these cute videos of their ship sailing out, meeting the crew, and updates of their dives in both Swedish and English. No con man would do such things.

Just the Ocean X Team being the Ocean X Team

The team went back for a second dive a few weeks later with better equipment, more crew, and this time a documentary crew. The results from this dive were disappointing, with lack of new pictures or video being equated to random equipment failure (ROV camera mysteriously burnt) and it being hard to see through the sediment. They communicate regularly with people interested in the anomaly through the Ocean X facebook group. Snoopin around I found a picture Asberg posted of a “bottle” they found on their second dive.

There is supposedly a bottle in this picture

Days later, they posted a sketch Denis made up describing the gap between the pillar and the object. There is a big question mark as to if there is a gap between the two objects, and from listening to various interviews with Denis, he seems pretty convinced there is nothing keeping the unidentified sunken object attached to the pillar of the sea floor, ie THIS THING IS POSSIBLY JUST FUCKING FLOATING THERE. The enthusiasm and excitement seemed to die down after this dive though, with some of the crew calling it a failure and saying they are low on funds because they have supported this out of their own pickets. They have also hinted at having more footage and information they are saving specifically for the documentary. The dreamer in me wants to believe they found some next level shit and are just trying to play it off until they release the documentary to make some guapcakes.

If by now you’re not totally freaked out or completely hate me for believing in some bullshit, this next part will amplify whichever you feel tenfold. There is a remote viewing group known as Txception, that employs military trained personnel, to “perceive” certain places and things by using their mind. Remote viewing is on some next level shit and will probably be good material for a future article, so I’m not going to get into it right now (Project Stargate). Basically, they give these people trained in this a small bit of information, in this case the first sonar image, with no knowledge of it, and they do some wild shit with their brains and actually see in their mind the object. You don’t have to believe me. Look at the images above, then look at the images they are drawing in this video. The Remote Viewing experiment was conducted in 2011, months before they dove down there for the first time in June 2012.

Here’s the conclusion they made from a press release, which came out 2 months before the first dive:

“TRANSCEPTION’s preliminary analysis of the seven sessions specifically tasked against the Baltic Sea USO target (plus another one based on directly related tasking), suggests that the site is a complex of structures–a mining/production/resupply facility–among other things, centered around a special type of “lock” (described by the viewers as being “like” a “dam”, “barrier”, “missile silo”, and even Han Solo’s “moon tube”), mechanically operated and comprising, at least in part, a cluster of densely packed, hydraulic levers that arc energetically back and forth, controlling the flow of a liquid (most likely water) used in the production of a much needed viscous, energetic, oil-like substance, dark in color and possibly toxic, with constituent and extremely valuable elements/materials mined locally.

Situated immediately below the predominate structure is a gargantuan chamber and network of tubes and/or connecting shafts, all underground. The beings responsible for its existence wear a special face mask to protect them from the environment extant at the time of construction. For the lock to work, it requires a special “key”, which is missing. 90% of the site is underground. There is most likely a “Mayan”/ET connection. One of the viewers insists vehemently that humanity is not ready for knowledge constituting the “key”, much less the technology constituting the site. The Ocean Explorer team should exercise caution when approaching the, much less anchor immediately over it, in that several viewers mentioned that they felt a sense of danger at the site, in that a major perception at the site is that of intense energetics present at the site at one time or another. Multiple sites like this one are extant.”

Ancient mining structure, dark toxic substance, beings, keys, knowledge humanity isn’t ready for, warnings to the team to not anchor immediately over it.  I don’t even know anymore man. I read this after I wrote it and was like “damn, I think I might be crazy”. Smoke weed to this. Keep up with the anomaly and Ocean X on their website.

FIGHT CLUB: THE BEST OF FRIDAY NIGHT THROWDOWN

Following the news of Throwdown’s return at SXSW this year with a Texas vs. NYC event, it seems only appropriate to take a look back at the history of Friday Night Throwdown, and the coverage we’ve had of it here on Superchief over the years. For the uninitiated; Friday Night Throwdown wasn’t just NYC’s best underground boxing event, it was NYC’s best underground party.

12 O’ CLOCK BOYS (BALTIMORE STREETBIKE REALNESS)

Whatever your city is doing, what the homies out in B-More are doing is 10x as crazy. 12 O’ Clock Boys is one of the hardest movies we’ve seen in a long time, hands down, exploring a city and a culture that just doesn’t give a fuck (and featuring Baltimore himies like Schwarz on the soundtrack) the film gets more done in it’s 75 minutes than most documentaries do in twice that.

THERE IS A TINY LEG A QUARTER OF AN INCH BELOW YOUR TENTH RIB.

“Although Tiny Leg’s sound owes much of it’s inspiration to the Oakland glucose and thumbtrack scenes of the mid-nineties, and has been called by HotFridge magazine ‘a thumbcore homage to the sound of Velvet Curtis and Taco’ and ‘a slick-stale, neo-juicy, post-hipster alchemy, somewhere in between gluke-wave and puke-base’ by PeckerwoodsToday, those sentences are too journalistic and not souague enough, if one may permit my french.”

STACY KRANITZ’S SKATOPIA (50+ Photos From a Burnout’s Paradise)

Photographer Stacy Kranitz recently journeyed to Skatopia, a famed 88 acre skate park/commune in Ohio which was founded in 1995, documented in the 2010 film of the same name, and once described by writer Kevin Duffel as “a demented mess that meets halfway between an anarchistic Mad Maxian Thunderdome and a utopian skateboard society.” Goddamn if it isn’t one of the best things we’ve ever seen.
