Project Glass is a crazy augmented reality program currently dwelling in Google’s cavernous R&D department. In nutshell, it’s this: virtual reality superimposed onto whatever’s left of real-reality using glasses or, better yet, contact lenses. This will allow us to do everything we do with smartphones, only without the prosthetic iPhone middleman: you’ll be able to see a world enhanced by appls, web tools, and social networking. Google’s been building up the hype by releasing this video:
Why would you buy books when you have internet glasses with all the information you need?
I don’t know, but here’s a take on how all this shit is more likely to look:
Slick minimalist landscapes populated by senseless apps, mind-numbing scores kept for every little thing you do, piles of cucumbers that you can throw away on a whim, this level of prosperity could be available for us to enjoy in less time than it takes to blink a digital lazy eye.
Our social lives will be infinitely enriched as we use wingman apps to get over our incipient sociopathy, even if we do act like Tommy Wiseau whenever we try to manually interface with other humans.
and you’ll be able to watch porn literally all the time, too.Tweet
