I always looked forward to saying this, New York City has a fucking awesome punk scene going on right now. (See: Perdition, Dawn Of Humans, Zatsuon, Hank Wood and the Hammerheads, Deformity Bortgang, Putrida, Anasazi, Crazy Spirit, Dawn of Humans, Nomad, etc.)
And we just wanted to mention our current favorite from the burgeoning scene, Goosebumps. With driving songs that sound a lot like Infest, and a loved cover of the 80s NYHC band Breakdown, Goosebumps is sick as fuck.
Last weekend at Tommy’s Tavern in Brooklyn, they played with a new noisy/D-Beat band, Putrida and Dopestroke from Philadelphia. All the bands were really good, and Goosebumps brought an insane mosh pit for such a small bar. Jimmy Gestapo from Murphy’s Law even beat someone up for spilling a beer in his face. Video below:
