People have been talking about nazis in Greenpoint, Brooklyn for awhile. I remember a few years ago a Brooklyn Antifa (That’s a group of anarchists who fight with nazis) got into a brawl at a punk show with some swastika-wearing young kids. There’s even recent news articles about an increase in hate crimes against Jews and swastika graffiti turning up in the Greenpoint/Williamsburg area.
Photographer Adam Krause released a portrait series of self-identifying nazi skinheads in Greenpoint. He says he met one of them at a gym, recognized the swastika, gained their trust and shot the project. Gawker put out a story about it today in a blog post called The Neo-Nazis of Hipster Brooklyn. But just in case the publicity gets it yanked, I stole all the images and posted them here:
