Bill Hicks Documentary

March 26th, 2010

William Melvin “Bill” Hicks (December 16, 1961 – February 26, 1994) was an American stand-up comedian and social critic. His humor challenged mainstream beliefs, aiming to “enlighten people to think for themselves.”[1] Hicks used a ribald approach to express his material, describing himself as “Chomsky with dick jokes.”[1] His jokes included general discussions about society, religion, politics, philosophy and personal issues. Hicks’ material was often deliberately controversial and steeped in dark comedy. In both his stand-up performances, and during interviews, he often criticized consumerism, superficiality, mediocrity and banality within the media and popular culture, describing them as oppressive tools of the ruling class, meant to “keep people stupid and apathetic.”

Thanks Wiki! Anyone know where it’s showing?

What happens when you take an angry working class kid, an educated anarchist dude, and put them in Thatcher-era England? They hear about punk, start the first anarcho-punk band and change music and lifestyle politics forever. This is who you have to thank for punk, so watch the documentary.

If you’re some hipster who doesn’t like punk, then fuck off.

We don’t need organising
Or politicians being patronising.
We don’t need their leadership,
Trendy lefties being hip.
If you’re the passive observer, here’s a message for you…

YOU’RE ALREADY DEAD.

SCTV GOES THERE: FEAR OF THE DARK

November 18th, 2009

SUPERCHIEF.tv is a real magazine that does real journalism, so we sent a correspondent to investigate a thing that we heard was happening.  INDEPENDENT MEDIA BABY!

The Leonid meteors were scheduled to appear over North America last night. Since Tuesday night disco bowling got cancelled, I figured I might as well check it out.

I used my fancy digital camera to take this incredible photo of the meteors.  It’s a two second exposure and I learned how to do that in photography school.

We’re living in the technological age though, so if you want to see some more long exposure pictures of the Leonids just google it! For more of my photos click “CONTINUE READING THIS” below.

Acid Trip Stick and Pokes

November 12th, 2009

The other day when I was looking for good photos to feature on SUPERCHIEF, I found a kid cooler than I thought existed. He’s an awesome, drug obsessed, NOFX-hating west coast kid. His photos are like an amazing documentary about his world of acid trips and skateboarding in god-knows-where suburbia.  Larry Clark couldn’t do any better.  Shit’s real kids, take a look.
